The Ogyen Choling Heritage House started operation in 2016. The Ogyen Choling manor built in 1898, is a historic, cultural site, with its origin going back to the 14th Century. The central tower of the manor was converted to become the first private museum in Bhutan. It was opened in 2001.
The Ogyen Choling Heritage House has guest rooms in 3 buildings.
The Nubgothang building in the west gate field which was previously used as a private guest house. It has 4 rooms.
The Hermitage with 2 bed rooms and a common living area. It was built in 2004
The Shagkor (two storied building enclosing the central tower) has 8 guest rooms. The dining room, the kitchen and a meeting room are also located in the Shagkor.
Conscious efforts have been made to blend the original ambiance of the rooms with modern facilities, to offer the best possible comfort for the visitor. Each room is unique, cozy and simply furnished. Each room has at least one piece of antic furniture. Some rooms have individual heating facilities with wood burning stoves (bukhari), others have electric heaters. All the rooms have attached toilets and showers. Our sanitary installations are imported from Switzerland.

The guest house strongly believes in an environmentally conscious use of resources, engagement of the community and maximising guest experience. Especially:
use renewable energy: solar water heating, wood burning stoves
insulation of walls, double glazed window panes
minimise waste production and responsible waste management: use own produces and products from the locality, no packing and no plastic bottles.
Location The Ogyen Choling Manor is located in the upper part of the Tang valley in Bumthang district. By road it is about 37 km from Jakar with the last 5 km on a unpaved road. The guest house can also be reached by a 6 -8 hour trek starting from Ngalkhang.
